Frequently asked questions

Everything homeowners ask us before going solar.

Still not sure? Call the support line and talk to the same people who install the systems.

General

How much does a solar system cost?

Every home is different, so we price on-site. Your free in-home energy savings analysis includes a written quote with the exact equipment, the expected savings and any financing options — no obligation.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Low monthly affordable payments are available, and we run seasonal promotions such as 1 year with no payment and no interest. Ask us when we quote your system.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — Florida Solar East LLC is a State-Certified Contractor, license #CVC56927, fully licensed and insured, and family-run on Florida's east coast since 1981.

Where do you install?

Brevard, St. Johns, Flagler, Volusia, Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, Duval and Palm Beach counties.

Solar Pool Heating

How warm will my pool get?

We provide a guaranteed written statement of swim season with a 90-day performance guarantee, based on your pool size, roof exposure and shading.

What does it cost to run?

Nothing beyond your existing pool pump. Solar pool heating uses the sun, so there is no monthly heating expense — and a variable speed pump lowers that pump cost too.

What brand of collectors do you use?

We are an exclusive Aquatherm dealer, with competitive pricing and warranties written to work for the customer.

Solar Photovoltaic (PV)

Is there still a tax credit?

A 30% Federal Tax Credit (FTC) applies to qualifying solar installations. We walk you through the paperwork; your tax professional confirms your eligibility.

Will solar work if the grid goes down?

With battery back-up, yes — your system can keep essential circuits alive. A standard grid-tied system shuts down during an outage for lineworker safety.

Has solar gotten cheaper?

Solar power has come down in price roughly 85% over the past six years. There has never been a more profitable time to go green.

Florida Solar Laws & Regulations

Can my HOA stop me from going solar?

Florida law protects a homeowner's right to install solar. An HOA may have limited say over placement, but it cannot prohibit a solar collector on your home.

Do you handle permits and inspections?

Yes. We pull the permits, meet Florida wind-code requirements, coordinate the utility interconnection and meet the inspector on site.

Solar Panel Maintenance

Do panels need cleaning?

Florida rain handles most of it. We recommend an occasional rinse and a visual check of mounts, and we offer service on systems we install.
